Eagerpig Newsletter – October 2008

Yes its a few days late but please forgive me, I have been away all last week at the racing and have only just finished it!

Victorian Institute of Motocross

There is a fair bit happening here with this season to wrap up very soon, plus the start of the new season too. Applications have been great for the new season with some new and exciting sessions to be done over the course of the program. Riders will be notified later this week of a start date and venue, I will post more information on the website once everything is officially confirmed.

Barrabool Junior Squad

After a small break we will wrap up the sessions on Sunday 19th October, we will be looking to use what we can of the track to help some of the riders out with the Geelong Arenacross to be held the day after the SuperX. Have had some interest from other clubs in getting similar programs running at their tracks in the future which is great news, this will also give us an opportunity to assist some new coaches in gaining experience and confidence by integrating them in to these programs.

State Motorcycle Sports Complex - Broadford

During September we started running organised practice sessions on behalf of Motorcycling Victoria at the Broadford SX Track to give riders competing at the new Australasian SuperX Series another track to practice on which is awesome, especially when we keep it watered all day and maintained before every session! We will have regular sessions right throughout October before winding up late November after the series. It’s great to be able to help in utilising our State facility more and we are hoping to move across to the Motocross track afterwards and continue on through next year. Open days are selected Thursdays and Sundays, ring the track info line on 03 5784 4163 for updates.

Racing

A few big events on at the moment, last week I headed to Perth for the Australian Junior Motocross Championships then the SuperX kick off. Full credit to all the riders and support crews who made the trip across, both events had excellent racing in some pretty tough conditions. Coming up I will be at the Geelong SuperX and Arenacross, see you out there.

Other

You might notice some changes over the next few editions, I will be slowly making changes to the layout and content to give it a freshen up. I am hoping to keep it easy to read while still being informative, plus I am looking to include more information about the riders we are training and make the sponsors logos look a bit sexier! That being said, now would be a great time to let me know about any content you would like added or deleted, or even just some ideas from another perspective other than just mine, shoot me an email and I will have a look at it.

Until next month, keep it safe.
